Jacob E. Zehr, beloved son, brother, husband, and father, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024. Jack, as he was known by, loved his family and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis J. Zehr, age three days, and two wives, Jean and Vonnie. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Van Gilst, and his parents, Arthur Zehr and Opal Wilson. He is survived by one brother, James A. (Nancy) Zehr; one son, Michael (Gayle) Zehr; two grandchildren, Christopher Zehr, and Stephanie (Chris) Jaco; and four great grandchildren, Sydney Lowrey, Kyle Jaco, Nathan Jaco, and Kaelyn Jaco. As you can see, his legacy and love will live on in all of them. Jacob was born in Deer Creek, IL on September 26, 1934. He married Sandra Walters and they had two children, Michael and Dennis. Jack loved his many nieces and nephews that he was blessed to call family. Jack was an avid square dancer, he loved his country and bluegrass music and was a good bowler too. Jack learned to play guitar and loved to sing Karaoke. He was very active in the Lake Havasu Elks Lodge 2399, becoming the Exalted Ruler, and received his 40 years pin this year. He then transferred to Elks Lodge 2065 in Sierra Vista, AZ and joined the PER Association. He was a huge supporter of the Elks and all the programs the Elks run. Jack was loved by many and will always be remembered and live on through that love. Rest in Peace Pops. There will be two celebrations of life, one at the Elks Lodge in Sierra Vista, on October 28, at 1 p.m., and one at the Elks Lodge in Lake Havasu City, AZ on November 2, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers please donate to an Elks Lodge of your choice in his name.
